5 Foods You NEED to Cover in Chocolate

I’m one of those people who could eat chocolate every day. I love it in any form and just about every food tastes great covered in chocolate! My personal favorite is dark chocolate, but I do love to experiment with white and milk chocolate, too.
There are two ways to enjoy foods that have been covered in chocolate. First, you can melt chocolate over a double burner or in the microwave, dip whatever you’d like in the chocolate, and let it cool on sheets of waxed or parchment paper. Or, you can also make chocolate fondue, which I love serving at parties.
Here are some of my favorite foods that absolutely NEED to be covered in chocolate:
Potato Chips
When I was a kid, I often ate chocolate bars and potato chips at the same time. I’d cram a chip and a bit of chocolate in my mouth. I’m thrilled that more people are embracing my childhood discovery! Potato chips and chocolate are meant to be together. Now, you can readily find chocolate dipped potato chips in the stores – or you can make your own.
Pretzels
Pretzels and chocolate are another perfect marriage. Anything that mixes something salty with something sweet is a winner in my book! When I make these on my own, I love to use thick, crunchy pretzel rods – but you can use any pretzels that you like. I also like to use different kinds of chocolate with my pretzels. I find that they are extra yummy with white chocolate!
Fruit
Fresh fruit is naturally enhanced by chocolate. My personal favorite fruits to dip in chocolate are berries, pineapples, apricots, oranges, and apples. Chocolate dipped strawberries are also an all-time favorite! If you decide to dip apples into chocolate, toss them with a bit of fresh lemon juice first. This prevents them from getting brown. Dried fruit such as raisins, dried apples, mangoes, and dried bananas also taste great when dipped in chocolate.
Cookies
I love making cookies extra special by dipping them in chocolate. This works for just about any cookie so I pick whatever I am in the mood for. My favorite cookies to use are sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, dark chocolate cookies (I use white chocolate to dunk in this case!), and peanut butter cookies. When I need a special dessert for a potluck, I’ll often buy cookies and dip them before bringing them to the party. It’s a definite crowd pleaser!
Marshmallows
Marshmallows are great on their own but when they are dipped in chocolate – wow! It’s a marriage made in heaven. When making them at home, I like to take graham cracker crumbs and dust them over the melted chocolate before placing them on the waxed or parchment paper. You can also do the same thing with cookie crumbs, crushed pretzels, and even potato chips for a unique treat.
