Our 10 Favorite Caramel Treats for National Caramel Month

Did you know that October is National Caramel Month? That’s right, if you’re a caramel lover and can’t get enough of the sugary treat, this month is for you! Luckily, there are plenty of yummy caramel treats to indulge in throughout the month. We’ve rounded up some of our favorites!

Caramel apples

Fall is apple season, so luckily it should be pretty easy to find good apples at a reasonable price at your local farm or grocery store. Caramel apples are easy to make. Simply cut the apples up and dip the pieces in your favorite caramel sauce (bonus points if you make the sauce yourself!) or drizzle the sauce on top.

Caramel apple martinis

The “adult” version of the caramel apple, caramel apple martinis are the perfect fall 21+ beverage! These are great if you’re hosting a fall party. There are plenty of variations on the cocktail but a basic recipe calls for vodka, sour apple schnapps, and butterscotch schnapps. Yum!

Caramel popcorn

Plain ol’ buttered popcorn is great, but why not step it up a bit? Caramel popcorn adds some sweet to the salty. All you need is caramel, butter, water and popcorn!

Caramel candies

Since Halloween is just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to pick out those “fun sized” candies. Our favorite candies with caramel include Oh! Henry, Take 5, Pay Day, Baby Ruth, 100 Grand, Snickers, Twix, Milky Way, and of course Caramello. Does this bring you back to your trick-or-treating days or what?

Caramel ice cream

Forget the usual flavors. Sure, chocolate and vanilla are great but have you ever tried caramel ice cream? If not, you don’t know what you’re missing!

Caramel sauce

OK so you can’t part with your go-to ice cream flavor. How about you at least top it with some caramel sauce? Hot chocolate sauce seems to get all of the love, but caramel sauce is equally delicious! Even better- have both together!

Caramel brownies

Again, it’s that chocolate and caramel combination we can’t get enough of. It’s just one additional ingredient. Pour half of the brownie mixture in the pan, add the caramel, and then pour the other half on top and bake. Simple

Caramel frosting

If you’re baking a cake or cupcakes for a special occasion you probably plan on frosting them. Step away from the plain-Jane frostings and try something different! Caramel frosting can give your dessert that little “something extra”.

Caramel iced coffee/Macchiato/Frappuccino/etc.

Chances are good that your favorite coffee shop has some sort of delicious beverage for sale that has caramel in it. Treat yourself to one (or more) in October or even try to make one at home!

Caramel dipped strawberries

We obviously love all things strawberries here at Strawberries.com, so we couldn’t keep this item off of the list! Chocolate dipped strawberries are an obvious choice, but if you love caramel why not switch it up a bit? Trust us, you won’t regret it!
