Strawberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Adapted from Laura in the Kitchen

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unpacked brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Add the flour, salt, and baking soda to a medium bowl and whisk together well. Set aside. Add the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar to a large bowl and cream them together using an electric mixer that has been set at medium speed. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

Once those ingredients are combined, slowly beat in the flour mixture and continue to mix until a smooth batter is formed. Stir in the orange zest, white chocolate chips, and fresh strawberries using a wooden spoon.

Drop the batter in tablespoonful amounts spaced 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. Place the sheet in the center of the preheated oven and bake until light golden-brown in color. This should take about 12 minutes. Remove them from the oven and let them cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

If you don’t eat the cookies right away, store them in an airtight container. Microwave each cookie for 5 seconds if you want to give it that warm, just baked flavor.
