National Strawberry Day

National Strawberry Day

Each year in the United States, on February 27, we celebrate National Strawberry Day. It’s a day to savor the sweet taste of our favorite fruit: Strawberries! National Strawberry Day is one of over 1,500 National Holidays that were created to celebrate the simple things we love in life.

Strawberries are the perfect choice for a healthy snack, an excellent addition to any fruit salad, great for any sweet or savory recipes, and they are also wonderful when they are Chocolate Dipped. Chocolate covered strawberries are such a fun treat for holidays, are a semi-healthy dessert, and are a wonderful party food. Such a versatile fruit definitely deserves its own National Holiday.

Here are a couple fun facts that you might not have known about Strawberries:

  • Strawberries are an excellent source of Vitamins C & K

To that we say…now is the time to scope out the best farms for strawberry picking in your area, and local strawberry festivals. June will be here before you know it, and we will be enjoying freshly-picked strawberries in no time. You might also consider plans now to plant your own strawberries and grow them right in your back yard!
